I am looking for summer internship recently, and I realized it is much harder than I thought. Many companies use summer internship to find intelligent students early, so competition is really tough. I have not been accepted by many companies yet, but I learned a lot of things through this experience.
At first, I wanted to apply only famous big companies. But after a while, I noticed this was not a good strategy for me. I think it is important to apply companies that match my skill and experience now, like group companies of big companies, but also try a few big companies as challenge. If I have both realistic goal and challenging goal, I can get more chance to learn and grow. If I tried strict strategies like entrying hardest companies like NTT-data, I couldn't entry any companies eventually.
Also, I learned that job hunting need action itself, not just study. Writing resume like ES or taking SPI, these things don't get better only by studying or action. I need to practice many times and actually apply to get better. Even if I fail, I can learn something from it and use it for next time. Those kinds of rejections teach me something.
The most important thing I learned is that I need to take responsibility for my own future. Nobody can build my career for me. If I want to reach my goal, I have to keep trying, not just wait for success to come.
Job hunting is hard, but I believe this experience will help me grow, not only as one worker but also as a person. I want to keep learning, improving, and challenging myself.
