In class, I learned about SWOT analysis. Its Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. Strengths and weaknesses are internal factors. Opportunities and threats come from the external environment. SWOT analysis helps businesses understand their current situation and develop strategies for improvement.

After learning about SWOT analysis, I analyzed the variety store where I work part-time.

One of the biggest strengths of the store is the relationship between employees and customers. Because I often see and talk with regular customers., some of them remember my name and even tell me, "I came because you are working today." This made me realize that good customer service can make customers come back to the store. I think having a good relationship with customers is a big advantage because online shopping cannot provide that.

Another strength is that there are many kinds of products in the store. Because of this, many different customers come to shop.

However, I also found an important challenge. The store encourages customers to register for its official LINE account by offering a coupon. This is effective in attracting new registrations, but the coupon can only be used once. As a result, some customers block the store official account after using the coupon, because there is no reason for them to keep the account. Because of this, it is difficult to get repeat customers.

To solve this problem, I think the store should provide seasonal coupons or special offers on a regular basis. If customers receive benefits throughout the year, they may be more likely to keep following the account and visit the store again. This may make customers visit the store again and help increase sales.

Through this analysis, I learned that running a successful business is not only about increasing sales. It is also important to build strong relationships with customers. I also think about how to maintain those relationships over time. In the future, I want to improve my customer service skills. This experience helped me use what I learned in class at work.

I think your SWOT analysis is easy to understand, because you wrote about your own part-time job. It was good that you not only explained SWOT analysis but also connected it to a real store. I agree with you especially on the fact that the relationship between workers and customers is one of the strengths of the store. If customers say, “I came because you are working today,” or remember your name, it means they like the circumstance of the store and feel close to the workers.
Many people buy things online these days because it is convenient and fast. But I think online shopping can’t make the same feeling with a real store. In a real store, employees can talk to customers, help them find products, and make them feel welcome. So I think friendly customer service is still very important even today.
Also the problem about the LINE official account felt realistic. If it is a one-time-only coupon, then they might close the account after that. I think seasonal coupons are a good idea. I also think the store could send out information about new products or sale items. When messages are useful, the account can not be blocked.
But the store should be careful not to send too many messages. Too many notifications can leave customers feeling annoyed. So I think the timing and the content of the messages matter.
